Alice 's first ever release ' New St South' single went straight onto the RTE RADIO 1 Playlist a firm favorite on nationwide radio including BBC Ulster, Galway Bay Fm, Newstalk,WLRFM ( Album of the week) She performed for the Sandy Harsch RTE Radio 1 show for RTE Big Music Week 2011 after winning the RTE/ RAPP breakthrough artist folk /roots bursary award. She also performed on TG4 Imeall show. Phantom Fm Sunday took a shine to her wistful guitar lines of the closer 'Lullaby' her finest & most fragile vocal on the album. 4fm likened the folk fueled 'Cotton on Girl' as did BBC6 Music radio show.
Alice has shared the stage with many musical luminaries, from Damien Dempsey to The Be Good Tanya's,The Walls, Republic of Loose, Eric Bogle, The 4 of Us, LIR,The Byrd's Roger McGuinn, Jape, The Frames, Declan O Rourke amongst others in venues such a Vicar Street to Whelans. She has also guested with Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott ( Beautiful South, The Housemartins) on more than one Irish Tour. Alice has also performed at the Blue Balls Festival in Luzerne Switzerland which saw her play alongside the likes of Calexico & Elvis Costello.

'The title tune is a slow sway with transcendental middle-eight, 'Cotton On Girl' a self- administered slap across the chops stitched with banjo,handclaps and communal choruses. Both feel like they were written 200 years ago,and may well be written again 200 years from now. Jago also seems to have an instinct for just the right modulation required to lift a song out of merit into distinction. She does waltzes, she does shuffles,she does winsome and wistful and exasperated and lovelorn, often within the same verse..Alice Jago is a girl you don't hear everyday. Peter Murphy- Writer.
