AnattaPatrick

Anatta is a Pali word, which can mean ‘No Self’ or no separate self. I love the freedom this gives from the idea of being a separate Patrick and various musicians over here, playing music to someone‘over there’. Anattas lyrics reflect pressing issues of our times, crying out for art to engage us with. This ranges from the polycrises of Climate, Social justice issues, AI etc. to nurturing appreciation of the mystery’s of consciousness, of time itself and also varied themes that simply amuse him.

Not considering himself a natural musician, AnattaPatrick's friends and family, have endured his learning curve and found through his determined exploration of sounds that captivate him, a prolific montage of songs emerging. His songs and repertoire have been cultivated in the first Friday music sessions in the Ecovillage in Cloughjordan, where he is lucky to be a long time resident of. He has played a number of times in the global green area at Electric picnic, at the elements of change festival, at community and activist events. Primarily a fingerstyle guitarist and vocalist, Anatta plays Rav (hand pan), Djembi, Pian. Inspired by the likes of @Cian Finn @Shakalak @Bubba Shakespeare, Anatta’s sounds range from Folk, to Rock, to Rap Somewhat technophobic, social media averse and shy of self-promotion, its questionable how these hours of music production will reach other humans ears, outside of live settings. He hopes now to record and release singles regularly in 2024.
