Arcada

Arcada (pronounced Are-cah-dah) are a high-powered, eclectic four-piece from Dublin, who's blend of dynamic drive and musical fluency have gained them a devoted following across Ireland. Influenced by a huge variety of musical styles from Deftones, Mr.Bungle, The Beach Boys and At The Drive-In, Arcada have rolled them all up into a quirky yet kinetic package. Their music, which could best be described as "progressive, ambient UBER rock", showcases the band's technical abilities while invoking curiosity through its carefully mapped-out arrangements. In the making for the last three years, Arcada have recently finalised their line-up with Sherry (guitar, vocals, sampler), Fiachra (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Paul (bass, sampler) and Fiach (drums), and have recorded their first album, due for release in August 2010 with follow-up tours in the pipeline. The band's live show is a must-see and, once experienced, the raw energy, consistently engaging rhythmic variance and "sing-along" melodies will leave you thirsting for more. They have played well received shows with the likes of Tubelord, Blakfish, Horse the Band, BATS and Heathers.
