ASC

ASC are a dynamic three piece whose music combines a melodic and atmospheric sound with straight up alternative rock. Made up of Andrew Kelly on drums, Naoise Morzadec on bass and Mark Healy on guitar and vocals, they are a trio that have built up a reputation for creating an immense sound.
The band travelled to Toronto, Canada in June 2007. They played two headline shows in the legendary venue “El Mocambo” (a club famous for hosting shows by The Rolling Stones and The Police), and also played “The Reverb”. Matt Reeder (Chart Attack, Toronto) wrote: "With a basic guitar, bass and drums format, the band fit solidly in the books as a bona fide power trio...From Mark's soaring, melodic vocals and reverb-drenched guitar to the drummer's solid fills and the bassist's propulsive playing, the trio made sure no sonic space was left unfilled". The band returned to Dublin and began recording their debut album. In June 2008 they returned to Toronto for the North By Northeast (NXNE) festival. They played ten shows in total, including a NXNE promotional show at Pearson Int'l Airport, along with their official NXNE showcase at The Neutral Lounge. The band also made a return to the stage at El Mocambo for the NXNE wrap party. Reviewing the showcase at The Neutral Lounge, Lana Winter (Spill Magazine, Toronto) wrote:
“...the band poured their hearts out to the crowd and were received with hollering applause and enthusiasm...The songs not only have intelligent, well written lyrics, but have a vibe to them that can really get a crowd going...ASC are fantastic band that should not be missed, if you have the opportunity to see them, do so.”
