BEAUTY PAGEANT are a 6-piece rock group from Dublin, Ireland specialising in heartfelt, driving anthems packed with melody, always striving for communal joy.
After playing across venues in Dublin’s DIY indie scene, alongside acts such as Banrion and Fizzy Orange, Beauty Pageant began recording new material in June 2021 in a converted farmhouse in County Meath, parts of the track have since been recorded in Windmill Lane as well as band member’s bedrooms, Finally being mixed by Les Keye of Arad Studios.
November 2022 saw the release of the band's first official single 'Born To Stay' a bombastic two minutes and 30 second wall of crashing guitars, relentless drums, fuzzy bass and sugary synth lines, the song was accompanied by a colourful video directed by textile artist Áine Byrne, shot in a set built by Áine and the band. watch here: https://youtu.be/NXMl4QbCVjA
The band then rang in the new year with a mix of hope and melancholy with the catchy second single 'I'll Try to Start Again' with an epic video directed by photographer/film-maker Faolan Carey (who has worked with Pillow Queens and For Those I Love) watch here: https://youtu.be/GQz0e2RVju4
Both singles received positive press coverage in outlets like Hot Press, The Thin Air, and Golden Plec, with Nialler9 calling Born to Stay “a fine slice of melodic indie-rock”. The band also have received airplay from RTE 2FM, Galway Bay FM, Dublin City FM, Phoenix FM and Amazing Radio UK.
The last year has seen the band become a formidable live act, playing several venues in Dublin, as well as having just played their first show in Belfast in the Ulster Sports Club, with their first show in Galway scheduled for the end of April in Club Aras Na Gael.
