Between The Leaves

'Between The Leaves' developed into an original band as a result of two singer songwriters joining together to make music for themselves and to create songs which are unique yet still true to their own sound.

With a love of so many different genres, perhaps this bands sound can be best described as an acoustic based alternative folk.

Two hard working musicians, Elaine and Kevin started their musical career by learning music in School, studying Media Engineering and Music Performance in College and even teaching music themselves to this day.

Having played on the live northwest music scene for a number of years from small bars, private parties and much more, they are no strangers to entertaining a crowd and know the importance of playing a good gig!

But taking time out away from playing other peoples music, the two finally decided to start writing, recording, and mixing their own material and working on new material also.

From there, 'Between The Leaves' was born.

Between The Leaves' are a new two piece original band hailing from the North West of Ireland.

The idea for the name came after a lot of discussion - For years, Elaine and Kevin have been honing their craft as song writers in their own right respectively and what better way than to join together their musical ideas, passion and aspirations by creating a new project to work on.

So far, the two have been working closely together on different songs, they have arranged, recorded and mixed several key tracks which will feature on their debut album which they hope to release later in 2014 or early 2015.

In September 2014, 'Between The Leaves' had the pleasure of playing at 'Songlines' (a Jools Holland inspired event which showcased some of the best original acts in the Northwest, organised by Miles Graham and hosted by Charlie McGettigan) at The Model, Sligo.
