Build Trap

Build Trap is the creative project of Stephen Curran, former guitarist of Cranky Face (Galway) and The Herd (Vancouver, Canada).

Before emigrating to Canada in 2019, Stephen performed extensively with Cranky Face, including appearances at major Irish festivals such as Body & Soul and Electric Picnic. Now, as he prepares to return to his native Donegal in Summer 2025, *Build Trap* serves as his means of re-establishing roots in the Irish music scene.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Pearl Jam, Jeff Buckley, Incubus, The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, IDLES, Little Green Cars, David Bowie, and The Beatles, Build Trap blends introspective lyricism with a dynamic, guitar-driven sound.

The project made its debut with the single A Fool’s Spring in January 2025, setting the tone for what’s to come. The second single, Lucid Living, is set for release on February 21, 2025, marking the next chapter in Build Trap’s evolving sonic journey.

A fully independent endeavor, Build Trap music is written, recorded, and produced entirely by Stephen—both as a personal challenge to refine his skills and as a deep appreciation for the art of music creation.
