Captain Catbeard

Captain Catbeard is a Texas born singer songwriter residing in Galway. He first picked up the guitar as a kid in a old time folk circle at the home of the "Georgia Mudcat" player known as "Bear Paw" and never looked back.
Music has taken him on an epic journey to distant lands, from California to Japan - he even stopped into Iraq and Afghanistan - learning about different cultures, life and how music breaks all barriers allowing us to share our greatest moments together.
In 2019 he starred in the mental health awareness video for the first "Hi How are You Project" remebering Daniel Johnston concert day in Austin Texas with headliner Flaming Lips.
After his travels, he found Love and rambled around the United States with his Cosmic Mama and cats in a caravan, plucking strings and singing things, until it was time to take her back home to Ireland.
Influnced by outlaw country, blues, folk, rock and soul, he plays the music he hears in his head and sings the words in his heart.
