CARRON, an enchanting duo of Irish sisters and multi-instrumentalists, are known to captivate audiences with their ethereal Celtic Pop sound, marked by mesmerising vocal harmonies and lush string arrangements. Formed by Méabh & Mella Carron alongside co-writer/producer Darragh McGrath, the band emerged as a cathartic endeavor during a challenging period of hospitalisation in late 2015. Their music quickly gained traction, receiving widespread acclaim on national radio and building a devoted global following.
Their diverse discography seamlessly blends emotional ballads, anthemic alt-rock, and modern pop, exploring themes of nature, loss, healing, and kinship. CARRON's evocative compositions draw inspiration from their shared Irish heritage, weaving together glossy soundscapes, rich string layers, and tribal rhythms that makes for a stellar live show.
Recognised as 'Ones To Watch' early on by The Irish Times, CARRON soared to success with their chart-topping EP 'Roots' in 2016, produced by the esteemed Denis Kilty. This milestone earned them accolades such as Pure M Magazine's 'EP of the Year' award and fuelled their acclaimed 'Prison Robes' tour. Subsequent releases like the empowering anthem 'Battle Lines' showcased their dynamic range, with electrifying tracks 'Even Sad Birds Sing' and 'Numb' revealing a heavier, more expansive sonic palette that would embolden the group toward a larger stage production. Performances at Electric Picnic, Bloom in the Park, numerous London shows including with The Coronas, and a series of sold out headline shows have helped the band craft a mesmerising live show and adapt to stages both small and large.
Throughout the pandemic, CARRON adapted by establishing a home studio and intensifying their creative output. They remained active in the music scene through a series of online live performances, including a standout appearance at the Amazing Radio US CMJ Music Marathon. Collaborating with renowned Irish electronic producers Kobina, Chris Ledwidge, and Richey McCourt, CARRON released a string of new music, culminating in their latest singles 'She’s Fire', 'Lights Up', and 'Right Time' garnering over 1 million national radio impressions and counting.
Their untitled debut album is set for release Autumn 2024.
