Cathal Fitz

Cathal Fitz is a singer/songwriter from Cork, Ireland. After getting sober at 19, he embarked on a journey of self-discovery, exploring spirituality and mental health. With a background as a personal trainer, he felt unfulfilled and reached out to a Shaman, which led him to a transformational retreat that shifted his perspective and reconnected him with music.
Growing up, Cathal was influenced by artists like Johnny Cash and Christy Moore, but struggled with substance abuse, putting music on the backburner. His breakthrough came at the retreat, where he was encouraged to sing, revealing a voice he had long suppressed. Realizing his purpose, Cathal decided to pursue music full-time, quitting his personal training career in January 2024.
Soon after, an agent noticed his cover performances online and booked him for gigs in Cork, filling his calendar for the year. Within weeks, he recorded a 15-track album and began opening for artists like Jack L and Jerry Fish and most notably, has secured an opening slot on tour with Cork singer/songwriter Darren Kiely in City Hall on March 8th. It truly has been a rollercoaster of a journey for Cathal, all happening in just over a year.

Cathal's music draws on his journey, fatherhood, and reflections on the world. His debut single, *Firing Squad*, out January 25th, addresses the complexities of relationships and trust, aiming to connect and heal listeners.
