CHROME HORSE
Ulster rockers Chrome Horse have grabbed third place in the rock category of the prestigious International Songwriting Competition.
This year the competition received over 15500 entries and was judged by Black Francis, Robert Smith, Tom Waits and Jerry Lee Lewis.
The winning song, ‘Reflections Of A Madman’, is the next single due for release from their 11-track long-player – a video to accompany the song is in production. Release date to be announced.
The band are currently promoting their debut LP ‘Songs From The Last Revolution’ which was recorded in Wroclaw, Poland in less than five days.
Tracks from the album are available for free download from www.myspace.com/chromehorserock

The band have begun working on material for their second album.
Chrome Horse have already garnered high praise from Rigsy, host of BBC Radio Ulster’s music show ‘Across The Line’, who declared Chrome Horse as “a great band”, their album as “balls-out rock”, and enthusiastically added “..we really like this album!” to a long list of superlatives.
Hot Press too have given them rave reviews: “Villiers’ ‘70’s inspired vocals sound like melted chocolate and the band’s tunes are fist in the air, defiantly traditional rock songs that stomp and riff with the best of them…the organ-fuelled, amped-up fury of ‘Cousin Tom’ and ‘Antifreeze’ are pretty much perfect slices of rock ‘n’ roll.”
Chrome Horse, whose name comes from a line in the Bob Dylan classic ‘Like A Rolling Stone’, have already had radio success with their promo recording of ‘Antifreeze’ hitting the number one spot on Dublin rock radio Phantom 105.2 last year.
Chrome Horse formed in 2006 with four members from County Armagh, Northern Ireland and the fifth originally from Opole, Poland. The band are; Tony Villiers (Vocals/Guitar) Gordon Lee (Guitar) Maciej Szczepanski (Drums) Adrian Lee (Bass) Anthony McKee (Organ)

"…a thrilling Farfisa soaked rock 'n' roll racket from start to finish...Death Row is probably one of the best psyche-rock tunes to come out of Ireland or anywhere else this century."
The Irish News
“…a full on rock'n'roll band with down'n'dirty guitars, pounding drums, cheeky organ swirls and some great lyrics – all of which makes me love this record. The sound is reminiscent of the kind of ballsy garage-punk-rawk played by The D4 and their ilk…”
