Ciara Dalton

Ciara Dalton is a young singer songwriter from Tallaght in Dublin, Ireland. Ciara began songwriting in 2013, while she was a participant of youth music collective SubSounds in Tallaght. Through participation in the collective Ciara gained priceless experience of collaboration, songwriting, and was introduced to a number of genres of music that heavily influence her songwriting to this day.

Ciara’s music is influenced and inspired by a number of female country and folk musicians, such as Patsy Cline, Emmylou Harris, Brenda Lee, Dolly Parton, and Loretta Lynn.

Dalton’s music, which falls into the category of alt-country, captures the feeling and heart of classic country music, in a way that sounds new and fresh. Focusing on storytelling, creative melodies, and captivating lyrics, Ciara writes about themes of heartbreak, home, love and belonging from the perspective of a young woman in contemporary society.

In the years since her first release 'Loser in Love' Ciara has worked with celebrated established Irish artists, Colin Moris who co-produced her debut ep 'Dancers & Dreamers', singer Miriam Ingrim, and legendary fiddle and mandolin player Paul Kelly (Fleadh Cowboys, Rusty Old Halo, Eleanor Shanley) who has featured on a number of her releases.

Since releasing her first two singles, Ciara has been joined by a band of talented musicians including former 'Spies' member Hugh O'Dwyer, and multi-instrumentalist Domhnaill Corrigan who is also a member of emerging punk band 'Slightly Disheveled'. The band 'Ciara Dalton & The Bolo Boys' are in the process of recording an album that is scheduled to be released later this year, which will mark the beginning of a new era for Ciara's music. The addition and contribution of the band to the songs written by Ciara and her co-writer and guitar player Martin Moran, gives the music a more powerful and upbeat sound while maintaining Ciara's signature style.
