Curfew

Rock // Dublin 11, Dublin // Prefer not to say

Emerging from the heart of North Dublin with a sound that’s as haunting as it is electrifying, Curfew are a 3-piece dark, hard alternative rock band destined to etch their name into modern Irish rock’s most raw and compelling live bands with a sonic footprint that is truly their own. Since fully forming in 2024, Curfew has already gained a reputation for their electrifying live shows across many distinguished Dublin venues such as Whelans, Bello Bar, The Grand Social, Anseo and The Sound House. In November, Curfew dropped their debut single ‘Lucid Mind’, which turned the heads of prominent media bodies such as Hot Press, Golden Plec, First Music Contact, Blowtorch Records and IMRO, who all featured the single across their platforms.

‘Go Slow’ their forthcoming second release features biting intense guitar riffs, trip hop-propelling drum grooves, and haunting, cathartic vocals from front-woman Jj, who effortlessly switches from delicate whispers to intense, full-throated power. The song takes influence from artists such as Foals and U2 with an undercurrent of electronica dance with cinematic organ synths and a delayed guitar soaked soundscape. Through simultaneously blending heavy riffs with eerie atmospheres and a fierce, unapologetic intensity, ‘Go Slow’ builds a sonic landscape that is unsettling, captivating and hypnotically explosive. ‘Go Slow’ was recorded between Temple Lane Studios and home. ‘Go Slow’ was mixed and mastered by Shaun Cadogan. Available across all platforms 5th March 2025.

What’s next? To celebrate the release of ‘Go Slow’, Curfew are headlining The Workman’s Cellar, Dublin on the 14th of March with support from Dublin Alt-Rockers Dominda.

Curfew are Jj Smilez (vocals), Gavin Dunne (guitar) and Mick Caffrey (drums).

Curfew are available for gigs / festivals / showcases throughout 2025 and can be contacted on [email protected]
