Dr Fox’s Old Timey String Band are one of Kerrys' few homegrown bluegrass bands using the classic instrument line up of double bass, fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin, all the while combining complex vocal harmonies with break neck banjo and fiddle playing. The band began in January 2009 and consists of brothers Fionn, Cormac and Ultan Lavery along with good friend Bryan Corbett. Over the last 2 years Dr Fox's have gained a great following for shows that are as lively as the lads themselves. Gaining experience in many of the best pubs in Kerry Dr Fox's are now graduating to larger stages and played to thousands on the main stage of Puck Fair on the last night of the festival as well as headlining the big top at the Charlie Chaplin Film Festival in 2011. The band are currently recording an album due for release in late 2012.
