"Kilkenny based alt. outfit Duende Dogs have been turning heads of late with their brand of Jesus Lizard-indebted rock" - Hot Press
"Duende Dogs have developed a near perfect brand of artful and dramatic melodic rock" - Pure M
"All that has dark sounds has duende. And there is no greater truth". Thus spoke Federico Garcia Lorca. He goes on to state; "these sounds are the mystery, the roots thrusting in to the fertile loam known to all of us, ignored by all of us, but from which we get what is real in art". Duende is not in the throat; duende surges up from the soles of the feet. In Latin America, the duende is also an imp, dijinn, supernatural enitity.
Make of it what you will, but the trinity that is Duende Dogs express themselves through music and song ranging from the intimate and delicate to soaring, blistering sonic textures. Traces of VU filter through mingling's of Rowland S. Howard and Sonic Youth, on a desert drive with David Lynch riding shotgun, heading to a midnight full moon mash up of The Jesus Lizard, Einstürzende Neubauten and Lift to Experience.
It's Rock 'n' Roll Jim, but not as you know it...
