Eugene's debut album "Little Apples" is out now and is available for download on iTunes and from 7 Digital.
Recorded in Kinvarra, Co Galway under the watchful eye of producer Declan O’Rourke, it’s set for release this Spring. Made up of 11 songs, the album touches on Donegan's hopes and experiences.
Despite his Meath roots, he is heavily influenced by American Country Legends. In his music you can hear the unmistakable footprints of Bruce Springsteen, Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash, artists whose songwriting reflect honesty and directness, qualities prevalent in Donegan’s writing.
The album includes a multiplicity of songs from classical intimate acoustic ballads like "Martha's Field" to all out rockers like "Heaven is a place inside".
Having finished off 2008 on a high, supporting the likes of O’Rourke, Damian Dempsey and Cathy Davey as well as performing a number of successful solo gigs with Drogheda band Geriko.

The Irish Times - "Little Apples has everything that a competent live band would love to capture in the studio (passion and verve), but Donegan’s voice comes closest to finding its own identity on the quieter, more spacious songs, where simple guitar accompaniment let them breathe. The somnolent closing track, Martha’s Field , is his strongest calling card, reeking of a writer not trying so hard to impress, but still prepared to strip to the bare bones."
Evening Herald - "Donegan's songs might just make Little Apples the most intense Irish album of the year"
Hot Press - "Filled to the brim with tunes that wear their hearts on their sleeve and some of the tracks genuinely have a timeless quality to them.... It skilfully shows that this singer has more then a few tricks up his sleeve"
News of the World - "Donegan is a master songwriter" (read less)
