Explosions on the Runway

With thundering drums, punchy bass, melodic guitar riffs and vocals filled with emotion; 'Explosions on the Runway' stormed into the Irish music scene in early 2011.

It all started in late 2010 when Leixlip duo Kevin Durran (drums) and Adam Brennan (bass) met guitarist Maciej Tokarski. Shortly after, they invited local singer Sinead White for a casual jam, and Explosions on the Runway were born.

Their early energetic performances in 'battle of the bands' competitions attracted the attention of the local media, which helped them to establish a strong fan base. Their astonishing gig at the Leixlip festival 2011 was chosen by many as the show of the weekend. With an album yet to record they have already been named as Ireland's next big thing and called as a ‘band to watch out for’.

‘Explosions on the Runway’ came out on top of the Battle of the bands competition at the packed Courd Yard Hotel with a number of original hits wooing their fan base of close to 100 people in the crowd – ‘Liffey Champion’
