FAKE FRIENDS (IE)

Fake Friends are an Irish Indie rock duo consisting of Cathal Flaherty and Patrick Kelly who formed in March 2020. Sending ideas back and forth online they finally got to work together and started recording at Camden Recording Studios Dublin. Their debut single was released December 23rd 2022.

Lead singer Cathal Flaherty had a very successful few years as a solo artist up until the start of the pandemic when he started writing over zoom with friends. His track A Thousand Miles was played widely on national and international radio where he was also shortlisted in the top 5 songs at the international songwriting contest. He has supported acts like The Coronas, LYRA, Tears for Fears, Jack L, Mundy & Paddy Casey.

Fake Friends are joined by Phil Dunphy (bass), Luke Tai (drums) & Darren Kelly (Electric guitar) and are due to head back to the studio in February to record more tracks for their upcoming EP due for release in summer 2023. Their second single is due for release March 10th.
