Having studied Irish Bronze and Iron Age music culture, Dublin-based composer FunkLaden began writing new ancient Irish music using samples of reproductions based on 2,000 year old artefacts found all over the island.
Collaborating with multimedia artist Róisín Doyle, FunkLaden put together FAOIN TALAMH, an audio-visual project that launched with a sold out show at Dublin's Unit 44 in July '24. The project combines the composer's ancient Irish music with Róisín's abstract visuals of native nature.
