Grand Slam Smith

Grand Slam Smith AKA Michael R Kelly has taken something of a similar musical trajectory to Fat Boy Slim’s Norman Cooke.

Playing in various successful/not so successful groups over the years Grand Slam has in recent years been honing his solo artist status as a groove artist.

A native of Belfast, N.Ireland Grand Slam currently lives and plays in Dublin, Ireland and is rapidly becoming a regular on the Irish club scene.

His debut album – History in the Faking is a mix of guitar based groove riffs along with bass heavy snaps – all instrumental and all heavily influenced by the likes of Groove Armada, Air, Fat Boy Slim but more importantly the very great David Holmes.

Nicky's Voodoo Lounge is the follow up to 2009's Histiry in teh Faking and takes alot of it's design cues from the Like sof David Holmes and Daft Punk.
