INWAVVES

Inwavves is a unique musical force that blends the aggressive, mechanical pulse of industrial music with the ethereal, dreamlike elements of shoegaze. Fronted by Gary Howe, the band's sound feels both harsh and immersive, exploring the boundaries between noise and melody. Their work captivates listeners by seamlessly integrating heavy industrial rhythms, expansive synths, and dense layers of guitars, all while maintaining an emotional depth reminiscent of the shoegaze genre.

Howe's musical journey began at the age of 13 when he first picked up the guitar and began experimenting, recording and programming on his 486 computer. His early passion led him to work with various bands, initially as a drummer, before finally switching to guitar and vocals in 2001. At that point, Howe was already well-versed in the technical side of music as a sound technician, engineer, and remixer for the Dublin/London-based industrial metal band Brinskill Bomb Beat. Howe’s multifaceted experience laid the foundation for his eventual creation of Inwavves.

Initially, the group was known as Mute is Murder, with Howe taking on vocals and programming, alongside Sean Harrington and Mick Dempsey on guitar. In 2003, with the addition of Andrew Murray on bass, guitar, and electronic programming, the band began to shape its distinctive sound. Murray, a talented multi-instrumentalist, brought a unique electronic influence to the project, weaving layers of digital textures into their gritty industrial sound.
