James released his first album 'Second Season' on independent labels in North America, Japan, the UK & Australia in 2005. Around this time he worked with Universal Music UK as a session musician touring Europe, the UK & worked studio sessions for guitar and voice as a musical director. Along with with the musical work he was art directing record sleeves, photo shoots & music related graphics in London for major label artists. He then briefly toured Australia before co-writing the top 10 charting Australian Single 'Beautiful As You' for much loved Aussie band, The Whitlams.
James' second album is due to be released independently in March 2012.
Arriving in Dublin over a year ago James set himself a challenge. Not knowing anyone in the Irish music scene, could he play every instrument, play every performance and produce a whole record himself? His goal was to do this within the year. The album has now been written, performed, recorded & produced entirely by James in Dublin within that last year. The new material weaves through indie pop, rock, experimental & acoustic sounds.
Once production was completed in Dublin James handed over the reigns for mixing & mastering to trusted collaborators in Sydney, Australia. The record was mixed by Sean Carey (ex Guitarist multi-platinum ARIA accredited band Thirsty Merc) and Michael Carpenter (YouthGroup, Perry Keyes, Damien Leith). Mixes were approved via the cloud & then mastered at Australia's largest mastering studio by Rick O'Neil (Bob Dylan, Paul Kelly, Powderfinger, INXS, Josh Pyke, The John Butler Trio, U2).
3 new songs 'Foreign Cities', 'Love, Come Quickly' & 'Epitaph' are now available online to preview the album.
New album out March 2012.
