Jennifer McMahon is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from Dublin. From an eclectic musical background, her music straddles the boarders of soul, folk, jazz, pop and electronic.
Her debut self-produced album, Part of The Whole (2019), recorded at Berklee College of Music's AKSS studio in Valencia, Spain was an exploration of the many different styles Jennifer takes influence from. The album was a vehicle of healing after the death of her Dad and the breakdown of a relationship.
On November 28th, 2021 Jennifer reunited with two of the main players from Part of The Whole in Nashville's Sound Emporium Studio (Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift, O Brother Where Art Thou OST) to lay down the tracks for her EP, Willow, released in August 2024. - "It sounds like a church I want to go to". Nods to Jonis Joplin and Lana Del Rey were welcomed references from listeners and the EP earned radio play across various Irish stations.
The EP is a 5 track record that explores the themes of love and loss, as much of Jennifer's work does. The album closes with Mantra, an audience favourite that often closes the show with the audience singing the memorable hook.
A small Irish tour followed the release as well as a date in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Jennifer is currently working with a collaborator from Ljubljana on their upcoming album 'Witches, Bitches & Goddesses', planned for release in March 2025. The work is a song cycle exploring the narratives around women via Slavic and Celtic mythology ultimately framed through the perspective of two modern women.
