John of the Apocalypse

JotA, initially an alt-folk duo, have grown into a more dirgey four-piece, now veering between prog noise and quieter phases, existential punk to garage rock. Inspired by the likes of Swans, Grinderman, Queens of the Stone Age and Tool, JotA’s music is a defiant wail into the void.

JotA self-produced and released ‘The Sacred Animal’ EP in 2021, which got national and international traction on air and in print, from RTE Radio Na Gaeltachta to Come Here Floyd blog in New York. The band are currently recording a batch of live demos, which will be distilled into an album, to be recorded in late 2024.
