Late Night Pharmacy is an alternative rock band from Dublin formed in 2017, with members from Ireland and Belgium. The band recorded and released its first EP “Demo 2017” the same year. The band’s first live performance was at the 2017 Gothic Species festival in Leitrim. In October 2018, the band recorded its second EP “Flamingo”, which was featured on various Irish and international radio stations including 98 FM, CRC FM, 92.5 Phoenix FM, JAM Dundee, Riverside Radio, and Blues and Roots Radio. The band promoted the EP by playing numerous shows in Dublin, sharing stages with acts such as Daithí, Classic Yellow, Daly and Cable Boy.
In September 2020, Late Night Pharmacy was one of four Irish bands selected to participate in the TiLT Development Deal, in collaboration with Totally Irish 98FM and the Sound Training College. As part of this deal, the band played a show in the Button Factory, and recorded two songs in Temple Bar’s renowned Sun Studios. In November 2020, Late Night Pharmacy was awarded funding to record several songs as part of the Music Industry Stimulus Package created by the Department of Culture. Using this funding, the band hired producer Aidan Cunningham (The Blizzards, Overhead the Albatross, The Scratch, Nealo) to produce and mix three songs. The band released these five recordings as singles over the course of 2021, receiving coverage and airplay on 98 FM, Hot Press and Golden Plec among others. The band played sold-out shows in the Button Factory and Whelan’s in September and October 2021, respectively. In August 2022, the band released a new single “Is It Because”, commemorating the release with a sold-out gig in Whelan’s (their first headline performance). In January 2023, the band were invited to perform as part of Whelan’s Ones to Watch.
