Midland's talented Irish musician, Laura Jo, initially gained recognition by touring nationally and internationally as a versatile multi-instrumentalist, captivating audiences on both land and sea. She has performed in Irish traditional bands such as "The Young Irelanders," "Billow Wood," and "Briste" since 2016 as a lead vocalist and musician.
In 2018, she embarked on her solo career travelling across various continents, but amidst the pandemic, Laura Jo turned her focus to her own original music. She found her creative haven in the studio alongside sound engineer and co-producer Alan Whelan of "Solitaire Studios." Her debut single, "Places," released in 2022, was met with resounding success providing sharing stages with esteemed artists such as Roisin O, The Tumbling Paddies, and Jigjam.
This year, Laura Jo's latest single, "Bright Eyes," emerged as the winner of the Wildcard Public Vote in the prestigious "A New Local Hero" Irish Music Month in association with Hot Press and IBI.
