Leah Rose

Pop // Cork , Cork

Cork-born artist Leah Rose took time to hone her craft and harness her distinct dark and dreamy pop sound after spending some years in the Dublin music scene writing and performing.

Influenced by lyricists such as Lana Del Rey and Alex Turner, Leah takes a cinematic and somewhat abstract approach to her songwriting. Strong imagery and colour play a significant role in the music she writes, resulting in the ethereal sound for which she is quickly becoming known for. Leah aspires to create art not only through music but through her artwork, photography and overall visual aesthetic, taking a thoughtful approach to the work she shares with the world.

“I see my songwriting style as atmospheric and somewhat abstract. I love being able to use music as a tool to materialise the things I see in my mind. So when I write a song I try to place the listener right in the centre of my memories and daydreams”.

The momentous release of ‘Goodnight’ was the first of three singles to emerge from the debut EP ‘The Sun, The Moon, The Stars’ in 2021, followed by ‘Dangerous Pink’ and ‘Everything’. Continuing to showcase her all-encompassing approach to music, Leah released her Arts Council-funded music video for ‘Everything’ in November 2021. In June 2024, the independent artist returned with the ethereal synth-pop single ‘Forest Wine’, the first in a string of singles the artist plans to release this year.

These releases saw her gain support from Hotpress, The Last Mixed Tape, Golden Plec, TILT with John Barker, Today FM, 2XM, Red FM, WLR and KCLR.

“‘Dangerous Pink’, the sophomore single from Leah Rose has a widescreen dark cinematic sound that sprawls out of the speakers and expands into a truly compelling sound ” The Last Mixed Tape
