Leevy

Leevy is a five piece band based in West Cork.

The music of Leevy is a unique blend of folk rock poetry, raucous punk delivery with Irish traditional undertones.

With original songwriting, considered composition and a seasoned stage presence at the core of Leevy’s music, the band celebrate their roots in the West Cork Gaeltacht by using a palette of ballads and fairytales to deliver a repertoire of songs and stories that veer efortlessly between the theatre of the ancient and the avantgarde.

Having been shortlisted for Gems on VHS, songwriter and frontman Amhlaoibh McSweeney has completed Artist Residencies in places such as Duncairn Belfast, collaborated as both a songwriter and producer with other artists (Ger Wolfe, Les Salamandas), recorded numerous EPs and singles and scored various film projects.

The group have honed their performing style at stages at Body and Soul, Electric Picnic, prestigous venues in Ireland such as Whelans Dublin, Dolans Limerick, Mike the Pies Kerry, The Roundy Cork City, while also having taken to the stage in continental Europe.

The joy of this music group is in performing; they have never left a stage without winning every last audience member over.
