Liam Quinn is a folk musician. Born and raised in County Mayo on the west coast of Ireland. He performs as both a solo artist and as part of the group "Trí".
From 2008-2012 he studied Popular Music at The University of The Highlands & Islands in Scotland. During this time he performed as a solo artist, gigging at the the various folk clubs around Scotland.
In 2010 he won the Ballyshannon Folk Festival Showcase alongside fellow band members Branden Kern and Hannah Lindqvist. The group entitled 'Bullriver Meejiums' were the opening act for the final night of entertainment featuring Andy Irvine and Solas.
In 2011 he came second in the 'Young Musician Singer of the Bann Competition' at the Gig N' The Bann Festival in Portglenone, Co. Antrim.
Liam's self-titled debbut album was released in 2011, followed by the EP 'Leaving the Land ' in 2012. In 2013 he released the album 'Castlebar Note' with fiddler Darragh Quinn as part of the group Oakwin. in 2020 he released another album of original material entitled 'Around Lough Lannagh'. All of the recordings can be found on music streaming sites online.
He moved to Italy in 2017 and performs as a solo artist and as part of the group 'Trí'.
