BBC Introduced, Lorraine McCauley & The Borderlands, released their debut album 'Light in the
Darkest Corners' in 2012, receiving rave reviews including 4 stars in the Scotsman. They have been
tipped as the next Scottish contemporary folk breakthrough act by BBC Folk Award winner Karine
Polwart.

Singer-songwriter Lorraine McCauley’s voice draws you in with its ethereal expressive quality and
even at its gentlest the strength in her voice is compelling, easily able to hold its own in the context
of the endlessly fascinating and inventive soundscapes her band creates around her songs.
Lorraine’s songwriting is full of depth and honesty, reminiscent of artists such as Natalie Merchant
with the Celtic lilt and power of Delores O’Riordan. Writing of injustice, greed, abuse, love and hope,
Lorraine draws from all she has witnessed as a social and environmental academic and activist as
well as personal life experience to craft songs of great beauty and intellect.

Lorraine's band, The Borderlands comprise of Jonee Duggan on accordion and glockenspiel, Nick
Jenkins on fiddle, viola and mandolin with Mat Clements (Orkestra del Sol) on percussion. The
rakish energy of this outfit will make you sit up and listen and as live performers they have
captivated and charmed many festival and concert audiences over the past 2 years. Steeped in
