Mrs Shop

Mrs Shop are an alternative rock/pop combo. The band is based in Sligo/Leitrim. Their original material combines electronica and real instrumentation (guitars acoustic and electric, piano, wind instruments, cello and various basses).
Influences are very diverse, here, from jazz to art rock to ambient music and even hints of dance music.
Stacked harmonies and set pieces combine with improvised segments, overlaid with lyrics that evoke nostalgia and future shock, familiarity and dislocation.
The melodic and lyrical storylines of Mrs Shop are delivered in distinctive and expansive style by vocalist Susan Rowland. The other pair of band members are percussionist, arranger and composer Tom Jamieson and guitarist and songwriter Pádraig Meehan.
