Nerves are an experimental punk band from the west of Ireland.
They have built a reputation as one of the most devastating live acts in the country over the past 2 years with a consistent string of headline shows and support slots around Ireland as well as the spread of a word-of-mouth buzz around the group. They recently made their UK debut with a loud, sweaty and cathartic show in the Windmill Brixton and French debut at a packed Supersonic in Paris. They have supported the best in Irish and UK modern punk including sprints, talk show, deadletter, gurriers, vlure and hmltd.
Having spent 2 years refining their sound since their last release, the band are now ready to present their debut EP “Glórach”, with lead single “Empty” released on the 12th of January. The EP will be released on vinyl in collaboration with Blowtorch Records and will be accompanied by European dates and a full Irish/UK tour.
Recorded and co-produced by Gilla Bands Daniel Fox, Glórach captures much of the sonic devastation that the band are capable of dishing out live, as well as some contrasting fragile moments of quiet discomfort.
With European dates and a full Irish and UK tour lined up for 2024, Nerves are making a big statement of intent in early 2024.
"A blast of corrosive sound, 'Leigue' pushes out towards the seven minute mark, a Brutalist construction that recalls Shellac in its bass-heavy abstraction." - CLASH magazine.
