Roberto Carazza trio
In 2008, Italian composer and pianist Roberto Carazza encountered the rhythm section of Dave Ryan (drums) and Dave Duffy (double bass) and suggested forming a trio. A solid musical rapport was soon established and the group began arranging a diverse range of Jazz standards, from early swing all the way to modern repertoire. Within months the trio started performing nationwide to much acclaim and appeared at festivals throughout the country in various line ups. From these early starts original material began to form. It was at this point fellow Italian Emanuele Armaforte was draughted in on guitar and the RCQ was formed.
Roberto’s original compositions keep an eye on the future combining elements of contemporary pop, RnB, and funk while remaining grounded in the rich harmony of traditional jazz. Within this format the rhythm section can come to life, with both players laying down a modern groove on Roberto's tunes.
