Dublin born singer / songwriter Roberta Howett's musical background began at age 6 and is grounded in classical training with The Royal Academy of Music, completing all examinations studying Piano.
Having cut her teeth singing Jazz and Blues standards in venues around Ireland, Roberta decided to try out for what would be the first series of XFactor. Championed by Sharon Osbourne, Roberta sang her way to become one of the 9 finalists, competing on live television in front of millions of viewers. Roberta also did an arena tour around the UK with the show, including performances in Wembly Arena and Manchester Arena.
After competing on X-Factor, Roberta was encouraged to move to London. She began working with London based producers while gigging throughout London’s Bars, and Music venues, including Bush Hall, ULU, The Bedford and The Soho Revue.
While performing around London, Roberta met with Toni Castells, 'Momo', a composer from Barcelona. Momo asked her to feature on his album 'Unharmed'.
Described by Michael Haas, multi Grammy award winning classical producer, as Morricone meets Satie, the Momo family have performed extensively around the UK and Spain.
Having taken her time to develop her writing skills, Roberta decided to put together a debut album, which has not yet been released. Roberta has already enjoyed radio play on both Q102 and Today FM recently, and looks forward to releasing her first single soon.
