Seánie Bermingham

Folk // Knocklyon, Dublin // he/him

Seánie Bermingham is a Dublin-based folk artist from Tipperary, whose expressive lyrics and intricate musical arrangements cultivate unique soundscapes which speak to feelings of heartbreak, anxiety, and acceptance. With influences ranging from Sufjan Stevens to Adrianne Lenker, Seánie’s songwriting and performances are marked by an intimate sincerity which can be felt in the most elaborate swells and the sparsest whispers. This range of emotion is given its fullest expression as a live performance, with the show being described as being equal parts confessional, upbeat, moving, and tender.

Seánie released his debut EP, That Hollow Moon, in December 2022. Since then, it has garnered 1.6 million streams on Spotify and been featured on several major Editorial Playlists, including New Music Friday UK, The Most Beautiful Songs in the World, Lost in the Woods, Your Coffee Break, Pumpkin Spice, Fresh Finds UK/IE, Fresh Finds Folk, Breath of Fresh Éire, and Mid Tempo Magic. He currently has 80,000 monthly listeners.

Following a sold-out Irish tour this summer, Seánie was among ten acts to perform at Amsterdam's Paradiso for the 7 Layers Festival last September. This summer, he also performed at the prestigious Cambridge Folk Festival's "The Den" stage and played at Latitude and Electric Picnic alongside Amble, to an audience of 13,000. This winter, Seánie will continue supporting Amble on their sold-out Irish tour, while also performing as part of their band.

Looking ahead, Seánie is set to release his debut album early next year. He writes, produces, and records all of his tracks in a renovated cowshed at the foot of Slievenamon on his family farm. The album is mixed by Allen Tate of Better Company Records and indie band San Fermin, and mastered by Grammy-nominated Philip Shaw Bova (Andy Shauf, Father John Misty, Feist).
