My name is SHANAQUI and I'm a female Rapper from Clonmel Co.Tipperary. My songs are written and sung by myself, and I am receiving over-whelming positive response from my gigs and internet links.. I am performing this live at The Clonmel Busking Festival 13th august 2011 outside Premier Music in Clonmel, in front of a massive audience! It was one of four songs that I sung that day from my album.

The response to my performance was tremendous! Every age group , young children, teenagers, adults alike supported me and stayed for the entire set and clapped and cheered after each song. People coming out of shops on the street and those across the road all stood still and watched me, while they recorded me and constantly took photos. .When I had finished, the crowd flocked around me congratulating me on my songs, which they said had remarkable lyrics , and that they loved the actual performance aswell, as I danced and jestured up and down the audience in high spirits, it was said that I was so entertaining and lively they wanted to join in with me.

' My music was great, my lyrics and singing were fantastic' and my interaction with the audience captivated them.They were hooked! Questions were being fired at me by everyone, where can we buy ur album? when is it out? When and where are you playing again etc..I was over-whelmed by the reception I received, at one point I was told that I was a breath of fresh air in the town.WOW!

The prior weekend I performed live at the Waterford Music Festival 6th August 2011 in Dignity Nightclub. The whole club went wild while I was strutting my stuff on stage and singing my heart out. Typical Rappers tend to stand on the same spot knee jerking and bouncing their hand up and down to the beat of the song, and I guess that's what the audience had expected I would do, as they did in Clonmel...NO WAY! Thats not me....Once I feel the beat of my song I automatically start to move, and when I sing I'm relating practically every word to my audience through head, hand and every other kind of gesture that reinforces what ever it is I'm singing about.

I have had many live performance since. One that was my ultimate thrilling experience to date was in October when I was invited to L.A by Leila Steinberg, renound in the music industry for being Tupac Shakur's discoveror, mentor, friend & manager. Leila had me perform in front of a massive audience in Long Beach California, and everybody was very impressed with my performance, the multitude told me I was fantastic! As in Ireland the feedback I received was that my stage presence was second to none, my energy was contagious and my songs were terrific, the lyrics were very powerful, true and universal....

This unreal response to SHANAQUI seems to be happening so quickly, but when I reflect ,I realise that I've been working at my songs for the last 7 years! I've put alot ot time, effort and money(recording studio) into making my dream/destiny come true so please god it is/will... finally pay off. All of my songs speak the truth addressing real life situations , some are light-hearted and others have very deep lyrics but whether its a fast or easy going song everybody in the whole world can relate to them. I wrote them straight from the heart not just to a snazzy beat, so im hoping that those that have yet to hear the rest of my tracks will like them as much as 'Best in Town'.

That is why SHANAQUI EDEL BYRNE is after creating such a frenzy and massive following, because not only are the songs universal and every single person in the world could relate to each of my songs either through personal experience or indirectly, but I am very entertaining and love to interact with the crowd. I'm in my element performing and my supporters feel that high spirited vibe and it gives them a great buzz.

My debut Album ' TRUTH' was released independently in December 2011 . Golden Discs and Premier Music in Clonmel have shelved it for me.
