A ferocious convergence of blues and folk executed through fierce vocals, eclectic percussion and driving rhythmic guitar. An acoustic setup with intervals of dirty, delightful electric fuzz.
With Doireann Waters on vocals summoning Imelda May and Robert Plant and Chris Cullen shoehorning modern beats into a mixed bag of ethnic drums, the band leaves people stunned as to how much noise can arise from a two piece band. Squawkabout are often accompanied by electric upright bass rounding off the sound into something truly huge.
Squawkabout will be releasing their debut EP, Walls And Shadows, in January 2016.
