Stuart Wilde’s music is unique. Dark, heartfelt and poetic, his songs range from thunderous to tender, populated by stories of lost love, shadow worlds, dirty dishes and crows.
An independent artist based in West Cork, Ireland. Singer, songwriter, performer, producer and engineer.
In 2009 Stuart began performing solo, writing and recording songs for his first album The Black Crow (2011). At this time he met German violin player Kathryn Doehner who contributed to The Black Crow and many live performances in Ireland, Germany and the UK.
During recording for the second album Kathryn returned to live in Germany. Stuart teamed up with his brother John Wilde (Jerry Fish & the Mudbug Club) in the studio, whose drumming and brass parts put shape to the songs that would become Devil In My House. The duties of bass player were handed over to Rik Appleby (Lionheart Productions).
Now, returning to live music, performing with his band - The Bird Men, the music takes on a new edge. As a three piece its hard, raw and dirty, drawing on influences of Blues, Ska, Rock, Soul, Gypsy and New Orleans Funk.
As a solo performer with guitar & foot percussion to accompany his singing, he makes a sound which could be described as alternative Irish Blues.
“The Black Crow” appeared at No.16 in 2UIBestows Top 20 Albums 2011. 2UIBestow is a popular Irish Music blog:
“The Black Crow is a wonderfully orchestrated piece of art which on the one hand contains charm and atmosphere while on the other hand contains lyrics that portrays loss and escapism.
Stuart's style of music is totally unique, quirky and atmospheric. Any fan of Tom Waits or Leonard Cohen should check out this album!”
