Formed in 2023 around Kerry singer /songwriter SYGH. The three-piece alternative rock band has launched into the Dublin music scene.
Inspired by Hole, Twenty One Pilots, and The Automatic, frontwoman Symone Ashley Bowes, learned to write songs from a young age. Achieving a diploma in contemporary music performance and currently studying music at Trinity College, she aims to prioritise creative freedom. Powerhouse rhythm section, Adam Grogan (bass) and Aaron O’Reilly (drums). The duo have been playing together since meeting in BCFE. For the last seven years, they created Silver Skin Audio and Arokuda music, which has successfully produced several albums and singles with various artists
Taking inspiration from 90s grunge and post-punk they are most characterised for their poetic lyrics and explosive rock anthems. Writing, recording and producing independently, SYGH released several singles in 2024, including ‘Wash You Dry’, ‘Gone’ and ‘Bags’. These tracks have been featured on Nialler9’s ‘Best New Irish Music’, Blackmarket’s ‘Best Indie Rock from Ireland’ and Genuine Irish playlists. They have also collaborated with Cork artist, Syano with the release of their single ‘Outside’ which has been a major success reaching Spotify’s ‘Best of Fresh Éire’
SYGH has built a reputation for energetic shows. Highlights include the Works Festival, Happy Days Fest, sold out headline shows in Whelans Upstairs, Workmans Club Cellar. They have also played across the country reaching Cork, Galway and Wexford.
They haven’t been shy from radio play either, as their single ‘Wash You Dry’ has been aired on Eurovision runner-up Ailsha’s RTÉ’s Radio XM, show Amplify. SYGH had the opportunity to have all four singles played on Flirt FM while being interviewed and giving insight into each track.
SYGH are currently working on their Debut album, titled ‘Reverence’.
