Tae Lane

Indie // Tullamore, Offaly

Tae Lane are a sixpiece band of brothers producing a genre confusing warmth with their own concrete sound at its roots. Honing those honest street lyrics you rarely hear these days, Richie’s cracked blues vocal earns him stripes above his years, with a nod to Tom Waits, the blueprints of roots, folk, blues, rockabilly and punk are loosely adhered to.
Tae Lane began as a 3 piece early in 2013 when Joe, Richie and Gavin laid down a demo of some songs they had been playing socially for years. An invitation soon came in to play the Electric Picnic and so Wes, Mark and Skello were recruited for the live performance. With the additions came the bands sound, and so the now 6 piece went back to the studio and recorded a short demo.
The bands live performances have been likened to The Pogues meets Warren Zevon with the choruses being sung back by the end of each song. The atmosphere the band create on stage is infectious from the start and continues to increase their rapidly growing fan base. Each track from the forthcoming EP flows with a natural clever hook worthy of a single release, making the musicianship of the group apparent from the first bar, but on stage is where this band belong.
