Hard Working Class Heroes festival is making its annual call to Ireland’s musicians, bands and singer-songwriters to apply for the chance to play and take part in this internationally-recognised event which runs in a variety of venues across Dublin, showcasing Ireland’s best emerging talent.

Last year’s big successes to progress from the festival include Hare Squead, who since signed to Columbia and releasesd their first single, Saint Sister, who were added to BBC introducing Glastonbury line up and Rusanago Family who were hailed as the “new era in irish hip hop ‘ by US music tastemakers Pitchfork. Since it’s inception in 2003, the festival has showcased many of Ireland’s best known acts including recent Ivor Novello winner Villagers, 2013's breakthrough act Hozier along with Girl Band, Delorentos, Fight Like Apes, Jape, Ham Sandwich, Pleasure Beach and many many more.

First Music Contact, who run HWCH, work with Irish acts from the very beginning of their careers. This annual showcase is an opportunity to offer Irish acts some career-changing exposure and publicity, provided by the amazing mix of influential delegates and international music buyers who attend HWCH every year. With Ireland now regarded as one of the best countries for music, it has never been more important to showcase all the talent this country has to offer. All in all, 10,000 Irish music fans and industry come to Dublin to experience HWCH events over the course of a single October weekend. It’s an event with a huge media profile, and one which receives coverage from news, entertainment, cultural, business and tourism outlets, both online and in traditional channels.
