The Moves

Electronica // Dublin, Dublin

The Moves follow up on their 2013 release Human Shield with their second studio album Negative Space: eight blissful songs that take you on a mesmerising journey, from the flighty Gates Wide Open to the didactic Take Me Back To The Stars. On Negative Space, The Moves pull no punches, striking a balance between sophisticated electronic melodies and indelible, thought provoking lyrics and incantations that bring each song vividly to life. Negative Space will be available in HMV and independent record stores and online in CD and 12" Vinyl formats and as a lossless digital download through iTunes and a variety of on-line outlets.

Live dates are being finalised and will be announced shortly, follow our twitter feed for more details.

The Moves latest record, Negative Space was recorded in Dublin between August 2013 and December 2014 in Elektra Studios Temple Bar with Alan Kennedy engineering and mastered by Aidan Foley at Masterlabs. With cover artwork by Sattchi featured artist Neal Burns. Across the eight songs of Negative Space, The Moves distill the extended format of conventional electronic music, to a purer, unadulterated sweetness, cadence and potency of shorter, more concise compositions. The same format can also be distinguished on The Moves previous record Human Shield and is refined further here. This approach formed the basis of the record from the outset, i.e. to write functioning, lyrically driven, synthesiser music.
