A stylistically unique Punk Rock Band from day one, the members of The Turn have been singing, performing, and playing in sync as if they’d been together their entire musical careers. Throughout the course of the band’s union, they have won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life; performing at a variety of venues, making loads of public appearances, all the while recording new music.
Having proven popular in the punk scene around Ireland, The Turn have played many gigs in Dublin, Limerick, Cork, & Wexford as well as a few smaller festivals around the country (Rebellion Dublin, GGi, Nowhere Else, Seshtival, Siege of Limerick) . THe Turn is currently recording their first album "Deaf, Dumb & Drunk". They like to have fun on stage, and as such all shows are fast paced and full of energy.
The Turn's sound primarily skates a line between hardcore punk and grunge, having been described as "punk and grunge meeting and immediately having an argument". However, they are known to occasionally dip into blues, reggae/ska, and some more classic rock.
Some Reviews of The Turn's debut E.P. "Rough":
"It's a fuckin belter...complete with razor blade screeching vocals that reminded me of early Jake Burns it's a very very angry record which is what Punk Rock should be...The Turn are a young Irish band and their songs are stuffed full of hook laden venom!! For a debut it's a cracker"
-Bitzy, The LEE Harvey's
"Really good stuff. Reminds me of a cross between early rudimentary peni and black flag circa damaged. This country needs more proper punk bands!"
-Paranoid Visions
"Six tracks of raging punk on this debut EP from young Limerick band The Turn. Short, sharp, hook laden tunes topped by a vocalist spitting venom.... It's been quite a while since I heard a band this fucking angry, yep The Turn are young, loud and snotty!"
