THUMPER
With a line-up of two drummers and four guitarists, THUMPER's maximalist wall of sound has long since set them apart in the booming Dublin music scene and has them "punching like heavyweights alongside Fontaines DC and The Murder Capital" (Chris Hawkins, BBC Radio 6).
2022 saw the release of their debut album, Delusions of Grandeur - an epic introduction to the bands psych-drenched rumble which juxtaposes towering walls of distortion with saccharine melody and unabashed hooks. The album landed them a nomination for Irish Album of the Year at the 2023 Choice Prize alongside Fontaines DC, Just Mustard, CMAT, Dermot Kennedy and more.
Thundering into the ESNS Radio Charts THUMPER have received UK and international airplay across BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, Radio X, KEXP, Kink, Kerrang and many more as well as having made noteworthy TV performances on RTE’s Tommy Tiernan Show and Other Voices.
The lengthy European tour in support of Delusions of Grandeur saw BBC Across the Line’s ‘Future Headliners’ play Reading and Leeds, Electric Picnic, All Together Now, The Great Escape, Vestrock, Haldern Pop, Europavox Lithuania, United Islands Prague Reeperbahn Festival and Iceland Airwaves - as well as a headline tour that hit Ireland, UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany.
Now with the spotlight firmly on THUMPER, the band have released a trio of tracks; Summer Assault, Circles and the crowd favourite Unwritten - a ramshackle version of the Natasha Bedingfield classic. This summer catch THUMPER touring in support of this material at festivals such as Mad Cool (Spain), Europavox Festival (France) and many more across Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Ireland and UK.
