Travega are an original four-piece band hailing from Dublin, Ireland. The band is composed of Andrew Scott (Lead Vocals), Daragh Hogan (Lead guitar), Moia Rowsome (Keys/Piano & Backing Vocals), and Brian Pemberton (Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals). They have crash-landed onto the city’s music scene in the last year with their dynamic rock sound, and wowing audiences and critics in Ireland with their raucous, high-energy live shows.
It's this drive and passion for music that inspires Travega to write songs that make their mark on all genres of music. Travega site a wide range of influences, running the gamut from Pink Floyd and Rory Gallagher to U2, The Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro.
After conquering their home city by at first playing gigs in some of the more modest pubs such as Sin E through to the more prestigious venues such as The Acadmey, Button Factory, The Village, Crawdaddy and Whelan’s, they have cemented their status as one of the city’s leading bands.
This past year has seen them tour Ireland tirelessly in support of their radio single “Bullrun”, including numerous festival appearances and as part of the IMRO 2008 tour.
Travega are beginning to make their mark with this latest radio single "Swim while you can”. The song is a perfect vehicle for Travega to draw people in with the intimacy of a ballad, while making them move with infectious rock hooks.
Radio single “swim while you can”, is typical of their new album, produced by Garth “Ggg” Richardson (Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Biffy Clyro, Nickelback etc). Together, they've teased out the group's strengths – lyrics, harmonies and passion – and brought them into the foreground where they're impossible to ignore.
After months of recording in both Vancouver and New York, the band has crafted a mix of hard rocking songs and sublime ballads. This highly anticipated album is due for release in 2009.
A band of true musical prowess and caliber, Travega are very much set to take the Irish music scene by storm in 2009!!!
