The current collective that is ‘Vasco Junior’, have been introducing their sound to the live venues and airwaves of Ireland and further afield since 2007. Vasco Junior consists of: Mick (Vocals), Dermot (Drums), Gav (Bass), Shoco (Guitar and vocals) and Gary (Guitar). “Everybody Back On The Bus” is their stunning debut and was released in May 09- receiving high acclaim within the music industry.

Upon the albums release, Vasco Junior have notched up 2 Chart Singles in the Official Irish Charts- reaching no. 15 for their single “Fall” & Top 40 with ‘Despised’. Getting the thumbs up from both peers and media alike; “Pick Of The Fortnight” (Hot Press), “Demo Of The Week” (Phantom 105.2) and the highly credited “Fall” also awarded “Best Song” of the Murphy’s Live 2008 competition just being a few. Radio has been equally swift acknowledging the band’s sound with studio performances on FM104, Phantom 105.2, Spin 1038, Live 95FM Limerick, Beat 102 103 amongst others. Which is high accolade for any unsigned band and showing much to come yet from this band.

Describing themselves as “100% natural what you see is what you get” the band’s lyrics are influenced by life, love, history, vodka and tall tales. The result is peddling urgent rock stomps alongside pleasant pop swoons and the odd devilish groove! There is an ever-growing fan base at the band’s live gigs and they have shared supports with: Aslan, together with compliments from fellow musicians including ‘The Blizzards’ camp has given these Dublin guys the collective nod of approval.

The Vasco Junior sound has not gone un-noticed outside of Ireland either with the…’VJ’ lads having also tallied airplay on stations in Liverpool, Manchester and sun kissed LA while also featuring in ‘Riot On Sunset’ – a compilation album by Hollywood based indie label 272 Records featuring the best unsigned acts from around the globe!
