VIC. are an Irish five-piece rock band from Dublin who have been described by Jackie Hayden of Hotpress magazine as possessing a "pop sensibility which feels completely unique. A combination of strong melodies, soaring vocals, soulful lyrics and some edgy instrumentation creates a sound that, whilst influenced by the likes of snow patrol and u2, still manages to make its own firm musical statement.
The band was formed in 2003 by lead singer/song writer Dan Fox, bassist Peter Wallace and drummer Rob Meredith, who were all still in school at the time. Lead guitarist Richard Margetson and multi-instrumentalist Billy Campbell later joined the group, to complete the five piece in 2005. In the last 3 months they have played five sold out dates in Tripod, The Button Factory, Crawdaddy, The Sugarclub and The Village and also been reviewed in Hotpress Magazine and performed live on FM104. Their fanbase is steadily growing in line with their public profile.
After recording several demos of their music, VIC were approached by Owen Lewis, the head engineer at Grouse Lodge Recording Studios. His impressive list of clientele includes Snow Patrol, R.E.M., Editors and many others. Lewis engineered and produced Vic’s track, Downfall, which has received rave reviews from Jackie Hayden of Hotpress Magazine and lots of radio play on Dublin's top radio stations (Spin 1038 and FM104).
