Waterdogs is a four-piece alt-rock band based in Limerick, Ireland, consisting of Kat Casey on vocals, Aaron Griffin on guitar, Angel Murray recently replacing Ciara Maria Hayes on bass, and Eoghan Creedon on drums. Drawing influence from many genres, the sound is commonly described as ‘90s, with tracks varying from intense grunge and blues rock, to soft, melodic indie tunes.
Boasting great success with their debut EP Midnight Loser, Waterdogs are eager to get in front of more audiences across Munster, and further afield. The group have gigged in the likes of Limerick’s Pharmacia and The Record Room, as well as Cork’s iconic venues Fred Zeppellins and An Spailpín Fánach, and are enthusiastic to bring their unique sound to festival crowds.
The four-piece’s debut EP, Midnight Loser, was released in December of 2023, amassing well over 5,000 streams on Spotify alone, alongside heavy radio play and a slew of impressive interviews and write ups in some of Ireland’s most respected music publications. The EP features the band’s first two singles, ‘Stone Driver’ plus ‘Victim (By Choice)’, which were fantastically received upon release, plus ‘Ash’ and ‘Brainfog’ – two grunge-fuelled, riff heavy masterpieces. The four have worked fluidly together to build an electric, sucker-punch of a debut EP – a remarkable feat from the young band.
Alongside the release of Midnight Loser, the band played two headline shows on December 1st and 2nd to packed-out audiences – and released their first music video, a visual for ‘Stone Driver’, directed by Brendan Moore. With the excitement of their EP under their belt, the group are working at full steam to bring their debut LP out in the latter half of 2024.
Having recently bid adieu to their original bassist, Ciara Maria Hayes, Waterdogs are excited to introduce Angel Murray to fans, with her extreme talent adding an extra level of pzazz to the outfit.
With lots of newness in the works, the group are eager to get their material in front of audiences around Ireland!
